The purpose of the ATS Automation log sorting system is to find the best category of a log based on the log's scanned dimensions (diameter and length) and characteristics (sweep, taper, flare). If there are more categories that meet the log's parameters, the system favors the best quality category. If there are two or more categories with equal priority, the system chooses the first category found with the required parameters. The scanning parameters and log categories are user adjustable. The system also has an option for generation of detailed reports on production.
