Spark Detection System

Facilities using dust collection and air conveying systems represent a very high risk of spark or fire propagation.  Explosions and/or dust fires can cause severe damage to the equipment and buildings. They may also be the cause of injury and/or death.

The best way to adequately prevent such events is the installation of a spark detection and suppression system. When the system detects sparks in an air duct, it automatically activates a water suppression system located downstream from the infrared detectors. This system also controls abort damper (VDR) that diverts the sparks or fire to the atmosphere.
