Planermill lumber grading defects detected by the vision scanning include:

• Decay (White Speck, HoneyComb, Rot, etc)
• Splits, Shakes, Checks
• Bark and Pitch Pockets
• Stains (Blue, Red and Paint)
• Knots and Holes
• Slope of Grain and Compression

The vision scanning technology consists of:

• Four top linescan color cameras each scanning a 48” section (Top Face & 1st Edge)
• Four bottom linescan color cameras each scanning a 48” section (Bottom Face and 2nd Edge)
• Image aquisition and objects identification computers
