The SmartDISC Stranders are available for tree length, batch fed logs or wood blocks for Oriented Strand Board (OSB) strand production.  Smart (Strand Management Accomplished in Real Time) features include:

• Patented Knife Projection Monitoring System to measure and record projection of every knife
• Patented Disposable Knife System that eliminates grinding room and associated costs
• Bend-away anvil sensor technology to maximize safety of the machine

The 37/118 SmartDISC Strander cut tree length or batch fed logs. The clamping system secures the logs in place while the strander, which is carriage mounted, extends into the cutting chamber. Disc-mounted knives strand the wood within the cutting chamber and the carriage returns automatically to repeat the sequence.  Available in 24 or 30 knife versions.

The 34/118 Block Strander cuts wood blocks. The cutting chamber secures the blocks in place with infeed chains while the strander, which is stationary, cuts the blocks that are being fed by the infeed chains. Disc-mounted knives strand the wood within the cutting chamber.
