Multiple Section Sawmills

For higher lumber production in remote locations it is often necessary to transport equipment in multiple sections and assemble them onsite. Mills are transported on multiple truck trailers where the trailers are partially utilized as the sawmill platform or the equipment is unloaded and assembled on the ground. Some systems use standard shipping containers as the transport medium and equipment buildings. Usually taking a couple of days to assemble, these self contained mills are capable of producing finished rough lumber or cants from small diameter logs. Mills consist of log infeed deck systems, debarkers, canting/chipping heads, gang sawing, lumber stacking bins and sawdust/chip removal conveyors.

Popular in areas where environmental and economic pressures have increased potential for processing smaller logs at the source. Trees killed by insects (bug kill) and forest fire burn areas represent unique opportunites for these systems. With these log processing systems, finished products can leave the harveting area instead of transporting raw logs hundreds of miles for processing. Can be powered by electric or diesel engines.
