Takeup Bearing Housing

Takeup housings to hold rolling element (ball) bearings and takeup slack in machine components. Their design elements include:

• Cast iron, cast steel, machined steel or rolled steel housing.
  
• Housing has concave sphered inner surface to accept deep groove ball bearing with convex sphered outer surface.
• Bearings are replaced by rolling it out of the housing (rotate 90 after removing shaft) and pulling through slots.
  
• Permits moderate initial misalignment.
• Simple, versatile and economic takeup/bearing combination.
• Typical applications include: conveyor belts, conveyor chains, etc.
