The most common type of steam boiler for industrial use is the water tube boilers. Fuel is burned inside the combustion chamber, creating hot gas which heats water in the steam-generating tubes.
Water circulates in tubes in the boiler heated externally by the combustion system. The fuel in the combustion system can be , biomass, wood, coal, gas or other combustible organics or waste. The hot gases from combustion heat the water in the tubes creating steam.
The team pressure and temperature will vary depending on the application. Pressure can be as low as 15 PSI in low pressure boilers for dry kiln conditioning, high pressure boilers of 125 PSI or greater for dry kiln heating and high pressure boilers in excess of 350 PSI for steam driven turbines.
